Ms. Yuri Okina

Residency: May 2 - 12, 2011

Ms. Yuri Okina is Research Director and Chief Senior Economist of the Japan Research Institute, Ltd. (JRI).  She is also Director at Japan's National Institute for Research Advancement and Director of Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Commission.

She has published extensively on Japan's financial systems. Her main work has included “Bank Management and Prudential Policy”, Toyo Keizai Inc., 1993; “Information Disclosure and Japan’s Financial System”, Toyo Keizai Inc., 1998; “Futuristics of Finance”, Chikuma Shobo Publishing, 2002; and “Financial Crisis and Prudential Policy” Nihonkeizaishinbun Shuppansha, 2010.

Ms. Okina is also members at the Financial Services Agency Council on Financial Services, the Government Tax Research Specialists Commission, the Regulatory Reform Subcommittee, and the Science Council of Japan. She has been an invited Professor at Keio University and Waseda University. She joined the Bank of Japan after obtaining her B.A. and M.B.A. in Economic Management Research from Keio University.
